New Maine law limits police cooperation with federal immigration officials

Maine enacted three laws limiting cooperation between state and local law enforcement and federal immigration authorities. The laws restrict how state and local police can assist Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials. The restrictions took effect following their passage by the Maine legislature and governor's signature.
