US Says Ex-Goldman Banker Berko Paid a ‘Holy Rain’ of Bribes

A former Goldman Sachs banker went on trial Tuesday on charges that he paid government officials in Ghana bribes to secure a power plant deal for a client. The U.S. Justice Department alleged the payments were made to officials in connection with a power generation project. The defendant's trial began in federal court on the bribery charges.
