SK Hynix second-quarter profit surges 557% to a new high — but misses estimates

SK Hynix reported second-quarter net profit of 2.76 trillion won ($2.1 billion), up 557% from 418 billion won in the same quarter last year, according to the company's earnings announcement on Wednesday. The result was below analyst estimates of 2.9 trillion won in net profit. Revenue for the quarter totaled 9.22 trillion won, compared to 5.47 trillion won in the prior-year period.
