Blackburn unveils bill to keep biological men out of Daughters of the American Revolution

Sen. Marsha Blackburn introduced legislation to amend the Daughters of the American Revolution's federal charter to require membership be limited to biological women. The bill was introduced after the DAR voted against adopting a born-female membership requirement at its national conference. The DAR is a congressionally chartered organization with membership currently based on genealogical descent from American Revolutionary War patriots. Blackburn's office stated the bill aims to align the organization's membership policy with its founding purpose.
