Ebay Has to Pay $55.7 Million in Settlement for Its Unhinged Harassment Campaign
Tuesday, July 28, 2026
eBay agreed to pay 55.7 million dollars to settle a harassment case involving employees and contractors who targeted a couple that had published critical messages about the company. The settlement followed a multi-year legal dispute stemming from a campaign that included sending threatening messages, packages, and other intimidation tactics to the couple's home between 2019 and 2020. eBay did not admit wrongdoing as part of the settlement agreement. The company has since implemented changes to its communications policies and employee oversight procedures.
