AI Forensics, a European nonprofit organization, reported that seven of the nine most popular image editing models hosted on Hugging Face were used to create nonconsensual deepfake images. The organization tested the models and found that they could be readily applied to generate altered images without consent protections. Hugging Face is a platform that hosts open-source artificial intelligence models. The report examined whether Hugging Face had implemented safeguards to prevent misuse of these image generation tools.
