Recordings between President Biden and ghostwriter Mark Zwonitzer contained references to classified information and statements by Biden about memory gaps, according to a report by CBS News in 2024. The recordings were made during the writing of Biden's memoir and were later reviewed by Special Counsel Robert Hur during his investigation into Biden's handling of classified documents. Hur's report, released in February 2024, noted Biden's recollection issues during interviews but did not recommend criminal charges.
