The Supreme Court declined to hear challenges to West Virginia and Idaho laws that restrict transgender athletes from competing on sports teams consistent with their gender identity. West Virginia's law requires athletes to compete on teams matching their sex assigned at birth. Idaho passed similar legislation. The decisions left the lower court rulings upholding these laws in place.
