Monday, July 27, 2026
Bryan Kohberger, convicted in the 2022 deaths of four University of Idaho students, filed a petition to reopen his case, according to an interview from prison. Kohberger pleaded guilty in June 2023 to four counts of murder and one count of felony burglary in the killings of Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin. He stated in the interview that he entered the guilty plea based on "false promises" and incorrect information.
