Google’s AI search is rapidly becoming the default, new data shows

Google's AI Overviews appeared in 43 percent of searches, according to new data. The feature generates AI-written summaries in response to user queries. Google began rolling out AI Overviews in the United States in May 2024 and expanded to additional countries in 2025.
