It’s Becoming Clear Why Black Holes Never Run Out of Fuel
Monday, July 27, 2026
A new mechanism explaining black hole growth despite their energy ejections has been proposed. Black holes emit powerful jets that expel surrounding gas at significant distances, yet observations show they continue to accumulate mass over time. Researchers have identified processes by which gas can overcome these jet pressures and fall into black holes, allowing them to grow despite the outward force of their emissions.
