Hikers face $25,000 fine after off-leash dog barked at grizzly bear on Banff National Park trail

Two hikers were issued fines of $25,000 after their off-leash dog barked at a grizzly bear identified as Bear 142 on a Banff National Park trail. Video footage showed the dog barking at the bear while hikers called out but did not leash or pick up the animal. Banff National Park regulations require dogs to be leashed on all park trails.
