Justice Clarence Thomas wrote a dissenting opinion in Trump v. Barbara on Tuesday, when the Supreme Court ruled that President Donald Trump's executive order barring birthright citizenship for children born in the United States to illegal immigrants and temporary visa holders violates the 14th Amendment. In his dissent, Thomas stated the 14th Amendment has been "repurposed for political projects." The Court's majority found the order conflicted with the citizenship clause of the 14th Amendment.
