I thought the Lockerbie bombing was a closed case until I started asking questions
Saturday, July 25, 2026
On December 21, 1988, Pan Am Flight 103 exploded over Lockerbie, Scotland, killing 259 people aboard and 11 on the ground. Abdelbaset al-Megrahi was convicted in 2001 of the bombing and sentenced to life imprisonment; he was released on compassionate grounds in 2009 and died in Libya in 2012. Questions about the evidence and circumstances of the case have persisted among investigators and analysts since the original trial.
