Georgia’s Okefenokee swamp becomes UNESCO World Heritage site

The Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge in Georgia received designation as a UNESCO World Heritage site, the first such designation for Georgia and the 27th for the United States. The site joins other U.S. World Heritage locations including Yosemite National Park.
