ICC member states voted on March 17, 2026, to remove chief prosecutor Karim Khan from office. Khan had issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Hamas leaders in May 2024. His removal followed an investigation into sexual misconduct allegations. Khan's legal team stated he would appeal the decision. This marked the first removal of an ICC chief prosecutor.
