Supreme Court strikes down limit on party campaign spending in coordination with candidates

The Supreme Court ruled 6-3 that political parties can spend unlimited amounts in coordination with their federal candidates. The majority determined that such spending is protected under the First Amendment. The decision overturned previous restrictions on coordinated party spending in federal elections.
